How to Maintain a Laptop Keyboard

Instructions for using the Acer Aspire 5920 keyboard properly. To extend the keyboard life.

In daily use, you should clean the dust. Specific methods: power off the laptop and move out the keyboard, wash the part without the plastic electronic circuits and metal pieces with warm soapy water and dry it. For the part with keys and micro-controller body, clean with a slightly damp towel. Once the key is damaged, you may remove this key with a new one or exchange the key which is not used. In daily use, you should be careful not to let contaminated water or other liquid, and solid chemicals spill on the keyboard. The keyboard is the cheapest part in the Entire computer, it does not mean that there is no value for the careful maintenance. If you use a keyboard properly, it can be used a few years, on the contrary some of them even do not last for a month. For the  use and maintenance of the it is not a particularly complex process, just pay a little more attention when using, you can play very good results.

Clean the Dust on the laptop keyboard regularly, but be careful not to let the water flow into the keyboard. You can use a clean damp cloth, dust free vacuum cleaner or compressed air.

If you accidentally poured water on the keyboard, then immediately do the following treatment:

• Immediately remove the keyboard, do not hesitate!
• Power off with the mouse.
• Turn over the keyboard, try to flush out the liquid.
• Use a hair dryer or fan blowing against the surface of the keyboard, pay attention that the hair dryer is set to cold - do not bake the keyboard, just dry.
• Dry the keyboard for 12 hours. It's better to put it under the sun.
• Reconnect the power and start the machine.

Keep the laptop keyboard surface clean. If there is dirt on the keyboard, it should be promptly removed. When not in use, cover the keyboard with a protector to prevent dust and waterproof.
